Breastfeeding while driving?!?

This is a trick that I never have learned, and never, ever will, contrary to what the crazy lady from the Walgreens parking lot believes. To start at the beginning, Marquis has had quite a month. He was diagnosed with mono about a week ago. They also did tests for diabetes and sleep apnea at the same time. We are still waiting on the results of the sleep apnea, but he thankfully doesn't have diabetes. Yet. He did need to have a root canal done today, though. Poor guy! He was also given some prescriptions from the dentist, so I took him home after the root canal and headed over to Walgreens.

The good news is that I got 9 deodorants for 8 dollars. Woohoo! The bad news is that as I was pulling out of the parking lot, I stopped at a stop sign and waited for a lady in a truck to turn in to the parking lot, and she tried to play monster truck rally with my car! Sweetheart started screaming, and I thought she'd been hurt. I called 911 right away as I got out to check on her. She was fine, just scared, thank goodness! After I got off the phone with the 911 people, I pulled into a parking stall to wait for the cops. Eventually the lady came over and apologized, and I just said, hey, that's life! Oh well. I was trying to be nice and polite about the whole thing. The officer got there and talked to us separately and had us fill out paperwork. He said it's a civil thing because it was in a parking lot, but he still gave us a case number. When he came over to talk to me, he said that the lady said I hadn't stopped at the stop sign. I told him that no, I was sitting there, fully stopped, waiting for her to finish turning into the parking lot so that I could go. He said that he thought it was her fault, but again, it was a civil thing so there wouldn't be a ticket. We exchanged insurance info, and he told me I could go. I got back into the car to leave while he was talking to the lady. I was just about to go when he came back and asked me, "Ma'am, were you breastfeeding your baby when she hit you?" What?!?!? That's what I said then, too, just an astonished, What? And he said, "She says that when she hit you, you were breastfeeding your baby." And I just said No, very strongly, with a shocked look on my face. How in the world would she have ever thought I was feeding my baby AS I WAS DRIVING!?!? Even if I was ok with endangering my baby like that, even if I wasn't a car seat safety freak, I'm not even sure how that would work! She's squirmy enough that feeding her at home on the couch is hard enough. I think that the officer knew that the lady was just making up stuff, because of the way he asked the question.

Breastfeeding while driving? Seriously??

I just caught up on your blog--I love Leannan's food review. Funny! Also--how does Marquis have time to have mono? Love you!

I agree, he doesn't have time for mono, so he should send it back to wherever it came from! So good to hear from you!
