Happy birthday to Sweetheart! Here's the story with her birthday pictures. While preparing the food for the party, I left the camera on the kitchen counter, and it ended up in a puddle of water. It wouldn't work at all for the party. Thankfully Marquis's parents had their camera and we were able to get quite a few pictures, but of course those pictures are on their camera, which means I need to get off my lazy bum and get a CD to their house so they can give them to me. So they are coming, and soon.
In the meantime, our camera dried out and seems to work okay. Here she is sitting in her birthday present from us. Rather boring, isn't it? But she doesn't know the difference, and needed a new car seat, so there you go. It's still in the living room, and she seems to think that we finally got a chair just her size. She likes to take books and go read there.

We really need a baby gate to keep this girl off the stairs. Instead I have devised a series of obstacles to at least slow her down. She's figured out how to get between a couple of chairs, so I added the car seat to hold the chairs together. So what does she do? The monkey that she is starts to climb! About scared me to death! And then I took a picture, of course.
Today Sweetheart made a picture for her daddy. First she emptied the bag of crayons all over the floor:
And then our budding artist got to work. Note the concentration.
It works better if you have as many crayons in your hand as possible.
Maybe there's another happy tree over here, wherever it lives in your world...
I think this face says it all!

I can't believe she can already handle a crayon so well! So cute!
My kids have devised a blockade to keep Katie from getting the rest of the way into the kitchen that involves intertwining our two stools. She also has figured out how to climb over the top. Geez. Nothing is safe anymore.
