Things I love about our new place, and finally, the after pictures!

I don't know if anyone cares about pics of our new place, but I'm so proud of the progress we've made to make it livable that I am going to post them anyway. :) If you want a reminder of what it looked like two weeks ago, just scroll down a bit.

First off, here is a pic of the patio. There was no before picture of the patio because we couldn't get to it. One thing I love about this place is that half of the patio is surrounded by railing, and the other half, the part that butts into the house, is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows. It makes the whole place so light and bright! You can get onto the patio from our bedroom or the living room, and Sweetheart thinks it is the best game to stand on one side while I wave on the other side. Of course, like everything here, it is super tiny.

Here is the path from the front door down to the bedrooms. It's not just a wall of boxes anymore! Unfortunately our food storage is just out in the open on the racks to the right, right where Sweetheart can reach. I have found random soup cans in the bathtub, in my bed, and on the bookshelf in the girls' room, among many other places.

Here is my living room. Yes, it still has boxes in it and those boxes are going to stay right there until we move out, but you can actually move around the room! And sit on the couch! So much better.

Here is the kitchen. I don't have to eat fast food anymore! Hooray! This stove is super cheap, a far, far cry from what we had previously. That, combined with the fact that we still have twelve (yes, twelve!!) boxes of Marquis's kitchen gear that are still packed and will stay packed until we are in our next home, means that Marquis can't get as crazy in the kitchen, but I have never been so grateful to eat real food!

Don't tell Marquis, but I actually love this kitchen. It is so super teeny tiny, which means that it is super easy and fast to clean. I also love that there is a window above the sink where I put my plants and can have something pretty to look at while I wash dishes.

Actually, I am loving having a tiny place in general because of how fast I can clean! I can plug my vacuum in one outlet and then vacuum the whole house! Only one bathroom to scrub! And, because I don't have to drag piles of dirty laundry from the top floor all the way down to the basement, the laundry is actually getting done! I also love that this has caused us to get rid of a lot of the clutter and junk that we were keeping just because. That is a really, really good thing, because our next place will probably also be very small just because housing prices there are crazy, and we will probably only be able to afford something about this small. Oh, and I love, love, love that the bathroom has a skylight. What is usually the darkest room in a house is so bright, it is very nice. If anyone out there is looking for a super cute little condo to buy, I really recommend this place. After we have moved out, of course!
