CG came to visit!

I can't believe it has taken me so long to post about this, because we are always so excited to have CG with us! But with a baby on the way and moving, life has just become very, very busy.

We found out about the new baby on Christmas morning, but wanted to wait to tell our families until we had told CG first. We also wanted to tell her in person, and since she was coming the end of January we waited until then to break the news. The night CG got here we had plans to go out to dinner with Marquis's parents, and we also planned to tell them that night about our new addition. We had also just found our new home, and so the second CG got to the car we just unloaded a ton of news in her lap. She seemed a little dazed, but excited about all of it. We enlisted her help in telling Marquis's parents the news by asking her to give them a wrapped picture frame that was empty except for a paper that said "Coming in August 2010." It's a rerun, it's exactly what we did to tell them about Sweetheart, except that back then I wasn't clever enough to write "Coming in September 2007," I just gave them the blank picture frame.

Anyway, we went to dinner at Archibald's Restaurant in Garner Village, where they have the best deep fried avocados I've ever had. The only deep fried avocados I've ever had, but still very delicious. These sweet sisters did what they always do, which involved making up for a lot of lost time.


I've said it so many times before and I'm never going to stop saying it, I love to see them together! They just love each other so much!

The next day we had invited all of my family to our house for dinner to play with CG, and to tell them about the baby, but of course they didn't know that yet. There were three picture frames on the entertainment center, one with a picture of CG in it, one with Sweetheart, and an empty one that just had a paper that said, "Coming in August 2010." I know, I know, my creativity astounds you, doesn't it? It took awhile for people to notice, I'm afraid. I actually ended up pointing it out to my sister Lacey as an answer to a question she asked. We had a great time and had yummy dirt dessert after dinner. Sweetheart loved hers so much that she didn't even stop to say "Cheese" like she always does when I take her picture.

We had even more awesome news that day. Before we told our news, my cute niece took off her jacket to show everyone her new shirt, check this out:

She has a little brother or sister coming in August, too! But at the beginning of the month, where our baby will be at the end of August. It was so fun to share our news on the same day, even if it was completely on accident!

And it was so wonderful to have this beautiful, smiling face there with us that day!
