CG and Segovia

Warning: Picture overload! Tons of pictures, and this is just the few I could narrow it down to.

CG still takes horseback riding lessons, but she now has a horse that she is half leasing. I'm afraid I still don't completely understand what that means, but basically this is her horse half the time, and on days she does not have lessons she still has to go and take care of him and give him some exercise. Saturday was one of those days, and it was fun to get to watch her without the formality of a lesson.

Here are CG and Segovia. Isn't he a pretty horse?

First she takes him and grooms him and gets him all saddled up. Sweetheart got to pet him a little bit, too.

I love watching CG's confidence as she takes care of the horse, not only how she is not afraid to get in there and pick up his hooves or move him around, but she seems to have more confidence in herself, too.

Sweetheart loved him, which made me very nervous, but we all watched her very carefully to make sure she did not get on the business end of things. Doesn't she look so teeny compared to him?

Then CG took him out for some exercise. They have two areas where you can exercise the horses, one is under some nice shade, and since it was very warm that day that is where we headed. She took him through all kinds of different exercises, and even galloped a bit.

To let him cool off she took off the saddle and rode bareback for a little while.

Sweetheart had lots of dirt to play in, which she thought was fantastic!

It's not fun if you're not dirty!

CG has a picture on the wall in her bedroom of a little boy doing this to a horse, so Marquis had her lay down and give him a hug. So cute!

And there was another very nervous making moment for me when they put Sweetheart up on the horse with CG. I took pictures, but when the horse took a step or two I had Marquis get her right off. I really am too paranoid, Sweetheart loved it!

If you are 2 years old and have just had a very, very busy morning, there is only one thing to do about 30 seconds after getting in the car. Her little eyes were drooping as I was buckling her in, and I hadn't even gotten into the front seat before she was out cold! Cute, tired girl!

As if that wasn't enough pictures, I am also adding a couple of videos. In this first one CG is making the horse walk sideways. I was so impressed with that! She is really turning into a pro!

This next one is just her riding around, but I love to watch! So confident, knows exactly what she is doing.

And this only takes us through early afternoon on Saturday, so there is one more California post to come.
