Getting caught up

I have tried to update this blog so many times, but for some reason the video I wanted to upload next just won't go, and instead of moving on I have been fixated. But now I am giving up, and maybe you'll see that video later if I can ever get it to work. It was a hilarious one girl show in which she took two pieces of asparagus during dinner and played with them for a long, long time. One apparently was the mom and one the child, and the child got sent to bed a lot. Marquis and I watched and laughed and took a video, and realized once again that we really don't miss our cable TV that much, this channel is much better!

It has been so fun watching her imagination develop. She makes up stories and acts them out pretty much all day long. Even if she has no toys (or asparagus) to use as props in her stories, she will quite often just hold up her fingers and have them be the main characters. One day while she was doing this I was trying to get her to listen to me, but she was focused so intently on her fingers that I just couldn't get her attention. I had the brilliant idea to hold up my finger and have my finger ask her to do whatever it was, and it worked! She thought it was hilarious, and listened to my finger right away. Now I think my finger may talk to her more often than I do!

She can also find fun new uses for almost anything. One day a box that had not yet made its way into the garbage ended up being some improvised clothes, and she wore it for quite awhile:

Silly kid!
