Learning a new language is hard! Sweetheart is really a very good little talker, but there are few things that she just doesn't get quite right. I love her funny mispronunciations. I know she'll get them right some day, but for now I really love the funny things she says. Here are just a few things she doesn't get quite right:
Glubbs = gloves
Printess = princess
Bleleful = beautiful
Bump-aid = band-aid
Schlippers = slippers
Schleep = sleep
Gooster = booster seat
Back yark = back yard
Daddy so hamsome! = Daddy is so handsome!
Biaper = diaper
There are so many more, but that's all I can come up with for now!
Also, some things that make me laugh are the things that she says very, very well. A few Sundays ago as we were sitting in church during the quietest part of the meeting, Sweetheart lifted up my shirt to see the stretchy belly part of my skirt, and then said as loudly as she could, "Mommy, youse getting fat?" Yes, Sweetheart, I'm getting fat. Now shhh!!! Silly kid!
Another example, just yesterday she came up to me and said very clearly, "Mommy, I have a booger on mines nose. I want a tissue, please?" At least she is polite and knows when she should get a tissue!
