Otherwise known as the day of the funny faces, but I'll get to that in a minute. First I wanted to reassure you that I still don't camp. Especially this year when I'm gigantic pregnant and can't sleep anyway (hence the midnight blogging), I am not going to go out into the wilderness and try to sleep there with the dirt and the bugs and the saggy air mattress and the bathrooms you have to hike to. So, my family did their annual camping trip without us, and had an extra visitor stop by hoping for a snack from the garbage.

I thought bears were more nocturnal? I guess not so much. I have not started rethinking my "no camping" stance based on the pictures I saw, no matter how many people have insisted that it was just a cute little bear.
Anyway, back to the funny faces, a few weeks later my family was able to use one of the campsites for an evening of hanging out and good food in compensation for the above visitor and being kicked out of the campground while bear traps were set up and their new friend relocated. As I was going through the pictures of that night, I noticed something. Because I have a digital camera (like everyone), I take a whole bunch of pictures, and it doesn't matter if someone is making a funny face or not, because I know that I have taken enough pictures that I'm sure I have a good picture of that person somewhere. For some reason that didn't hold true at all that night, so I'm going for the opposite tactic, I'm going to show you all the funny faces, instead of the one or two normal-looking pictures I took that night.
I'll start you off with a mild one, just Sweetheart enjoying her BBQ beans.

See? Not bad, especially for a picture of a kid. I actually think it's pretty cute, I love messy-faced kids!
Then there is one of my cute sister, Kathy.

We did have a deer wander through a few times that night, this picture makes me think of that deer, and maybe some headlights.
Here is CG enjoying her meal...

...and protesting having her picture taken at that same time. Don't talk with your mouth full, dear. Well, maybe do, it makes for funny pictures.
This next picture is a double whammy, I got two of my nieces at once. Chelsey is in the front giving me an extreme example that my family can't smile and open their eyes at the same time.

Then sweet Olivia is in the background, looking pensive? Perplexed? Spaced out? Bored? It's cute, whatever it is!
My nephew Nathan's isn't a funny face, he is just showing the awesomeness of the Dorito in his hand. Although I wonder if that smile is a little fake, just for the camera's sake.

I actually think this is a super cute one of Sweetheart, beautiful smile! I just happened to catch CG blowing in her face at the same time, which is what Sweetheart was giggling at.

This next one is fairly mild, too, but it's the only one I had of my sister Lacey, and I caught her mid sentence.

My brother Jason, showing me some love.

And then these turkeys. I took about five pictures in a row, trying to get anything decent out of them. My sister-in-law Ashley is on the left, our good friend Tim who's been around so long he's basically adopted is in the middle, my brother Mike on the right. All trying to pretend I don't exist, and all failing miserably.

But what about me? I like being the person behind the camera because then I don't have to be in many pictures. But then that camera sometimes gets stolen, and you end up with something that looks like this:

Awesome. I'll have you know, I made the face on purpose. And then when I saw the picture, my poor, sleep-deprived self thought it was the most hilarious thing I had ever seen, and I laughed until I cried. It doesn't take much, sometimes.
