I'll Just Leave That for the Maid

I won a contest not long ago, one that I was super excited about and really wanted to win. It was a gift card for Ecomaids, an eco-friendly cleaning service that is brand new. I was beyond excited! I used to say that I could never have a maid because I would go around cleaning the place before they showed up so they wouldn't think I was a slob. Also, I don't live in a gagillion dollar mansion with more bathrooms than it's possible for one person to actually clean on their own.

Yeah, I've totally changed my mind. Something about all the stuff that I do (work fulltime, while taking care of two of the cutest kids ever, keep up the house, laundry, on and on) and not ever having enough time, the thought of having someone else come in and get the cleaning out of the way for me was a gigantic relief! And I found myself thinking my new favorite phrase quite often. The inside of the microwave is messy? I'll just leave that for the maid. Wow, the stairs really need to be vacuumed. I'll leave that for the maid, too. It was wonderful! The day they were here I was working downstairs while they were working their magic upstairs, and at one point I took Princess upstairs to lay her down for her nap. When I got back downstairs I sent Marquis the message, "There is someone else cleaning behind the toilet. That is really weird and fantastically awesome all at the same time!" and it was so true! It is still a little strange to me that a stranger was doing that in my house, but that means that I didn't have to! Oh, the bliss!!!

After they had gone and we came upstairs for lunch, Sweetheart spread her arms out wide and said, very enthusiastically, "Oh!!! It's so BETTER!!!!" She then ran from room to room telling me just how clean everything was. I didn't think it had been that bad before, but I couldn't argue, it looked great! They even left me a reusable grocery bag and a thank you card.

I was going to take pics of everything, because that's just the kind of crazy blogger I am, but the reality with two little ones is that all they have to do is walk in a room and toys start to fling themselves about, Cheerios burst from the ceiling and scatter themselves on the floor, and suddenly all the furniture is covered in sticky goo. But it was all the way clean for just those few minutes, and it was wonderful! Plus it will be a long time before I will need to clean behind my toilet again.

As a bonus, if you like these guys on Facebook they will randomly post really good deals, I've seen them for as low as $49. $49!!!!

As a disclaimer, Ecomaids had no idea I was writing this post. They have given me nothing, except for a clean, shiny house.
