So, CG has been back in California for a few weeks now and I still haven't finished documenting our time with her. I'm afraid this time was filled with some rather boring stuff, but the even the boring stuff is still good stuff, and we had some fun.
For the first of the teaser pics from my last post, what did you think of this one?
Looks rather icky, doesn't it? But really, it is a good thing, because that right there is a big, happy bag of meat. Marquis showed CG how to turn a happy bag of meat into beef jerky.
Unfortunately some of it didn't turn out, in our old oven you could set the temp low enough to make jerky right there in the oven, but in this oven it apparently just bakes it. So instead we ended up with some yummy jerky made in the dehydrator, and some yummy baked meat that we later turned into filling for some delicious tacos.
Here is another teaser picture:
Pretty easy, right? That is Sweetheart, happily (yes happily, that face is a concentrating face, not a sad face) consuming a sucker that we had just bought for her at the candy store at Gardner Village.
I love how both Sweetheart and Princess in this picture didn't even look up when we told them to smile. Suckers are serious business! We went to Gardner Village to check out the farmer's market that day, and of course we had to stop and get a little more fudge. (Jalapeno fudge, remember? And another chunk of amaretto fudge for CG.)
CG spent a lot of time playing with her sisters, which they, of course, loved.
They still keep asking where their big sister is, we all miss her so much!

The "Bacon is good for me" shirt goes along perfect with that picture. Mmmmm, love me some jerky but I only like to get involved in the process when it is time to eat it:)
