A Sad, Sad Day

Two things. First, our wonderful pet caterpillar has gone to the big tree in the sky.

We picked it up camping and it has been the best pet ever; low maintenance, no messes to clean, and other than grabbing some new leaves to throw in there from time to time, very easy to take care of. Except for the part where we killed it, of course, but the thing lasted like a month? Two months? I was shocked it survived the trip home and I was shocked again that it lasted as long as it did. All the squeals and fun from the girls made it well worth bringing home.

Goodbye Sheshe, we miss you!

Thing #2. When Marquis and I first decided to start trying for a baby, we went to the store and picked out a crib. It was beautiful and we loved it, and we saved our pennies until we finally had enough to go and buy it. We weren't actually trying for a baby yet, just planning on it soon, and hadn't even been married a year, but we were the owners of a crib that we loved. Babies take a lot of gear, but the crib is crucial, so we felt well on the way to ready. Of course then years and years and years went by with no baby, and our crib gathered dust in storage.

As soon as I found out I was pregnant I wanted to get that crib out and set it up, but we refrained until after the big ultrasound so I knew what color of sheets to buy.

It was a sad day when we took it down to give Sweetheart her big girl bed, and a very happy day when we got it out again in preparation for Princess. But what about now? Princess has her own big girl bed, and I really don't want to move the crib again, especially since we will never need it again.

Today I sold it, and I almost told that sweet lady never mind and handed her money back. Almost.
