Sweetheart's One-Liners - Spiderman Edition

Spiderman has been a favorite around here for a long time (remember the Spiderman shirt?), but in the past little while it has become a bit of an obsession. One day I was puttering around in the kitchen while the girls were watching the movie in the living room. I could hear Sweetheart running around the room talking about how awesome Spiderman is and how he shoots his webs. By the sound of her voice I could tell she had climbed up onto the back of the couch when I heard her say, "And then Spiderman, he jumps so high, like this!" A few seconds later I heard a loud thump, followed by crying. Apparently Sweetheart's pretend webs don't hold her as well as Spiderman's webs do in the movie. She had jumped from the back of the couch all the way over by the dining room table, quite an impressive leap!

(This picture has nothing to do with any of today's stories or with Spiderman, I just thought it was funny. And yes, she is wearing what you are thinking she is wearing.)

I was on Facebook one day and one of the ads on the side was for a Spiderman costume. Sweetheart saw it and got very excited that there was a Spiderman on my computer, so I asked her if that is what she wanted to be for Halloween. She put on her most disgusted face and said, "Mom, Spiderman is a boy! I am NOT a boy, I'm a girl!" Well, duh! How could I not have known? I then found a Spidergirl costume on Amazon and Sweetheart is now very excited for Halloween!

Just last night as I was putting her to bed, I left the room and she immediately yelled for me to come back. I peeked my head in their room and said, "What do you need?" And she said, "I just needed some beauty!" Awwwww!! She sure knows how to butter up her mom!

Sweetheart was peeking in the bedroom door one day at Princess, who was supposed to be napping but instead was singing to herself. I asked Sweetheart what she was doing and she said, "I'm just peeking at her singing. I just love the music in her!"

As a bonus feature I'm adding one from Princess. In church last Sunday, right when everyone was being their most quiet because it was right in the middle of a prayer, Princess started to yell at everyone around us, "Wake up!!! WAKE UP!!!!" as loudly as she could. Thankfully the people around us seemed more amused than irritated at the interruption to the prayer!
