Fabulous Monthly Week-Long Vacation for March

Explanation: I read a lot. One of the books that I am currently reading is about making goals and achieving your dreams, and it has a concept in it that I love. This guy says that anything that you want out of life, go ahead and start doing it right now, but just do it in an abbreviated form if you aren't able to do the full thing yet. For example, if what you want is to be able to take a fabulous week-long vacation every month, go ahead and start doing it! At first you may need to abbreviate it and make your week-long vacation just last an afternoon, but eventually you will be able to take a real week-long vacation. I love this concept, and thankfully Marquis will usually go along with my crazy ideas, so we are going to do a fabulous week-long vacation every month. We decided that even if we never get to the point where we are taking a full week for our monthly vacations, even if it is never more than an afternoon, having a grand adventure one afternoon a month is great!

But because calling it a fabulous monthly week-long vacation is such a mouthful, from here on out I'll just been calling these our monthly Grand Adventures. So here is our very first Grand Adventure!

For March, we heard about an exhibit at the BYU Museum of Art called Heroes and Monsters. You might as well have put up a big sign that said, "Museum exhibit specifically for Sweetheart and Princess" because really nothing else could be more up their alley. We got there at about 10:00 in the morning and stopped outside to say hi to the Loch Ness Monster.

I think this picture is my favorite one in the whole exhibit!

They had a fun hands on area with tons of action figures and things you could do. The girls created their own monsters out of magnet monster pieces.

Of course, Sweetheart had to be Spiderman for just a few minutes.

And Princess decided to be the pink power ranger.

We all loved this giant lady, who is somehow supposed to be Alice in Wonderland? Anyway, she's awesome. Princess just didn't like that she wasn't allowed to climb on her!

We also wandered the rest of the museum after we ran out of the heroes and monsters, there were so many beautiful things to see!

After we finished wandering the museum we found a nearby park and enjoyed some sandwiches. The girls loved their picnic and running around on the grass.

Our Grand Adventure certainly didn't last very long, but it was the best day ever. And the price tag for our Grand Adventure. Oh, how about $0? I love that it doesn't take money to have an absolutely amazing day!
