Baby Animal Days

There is a fun place not too far from us called This is the Place State Park. It's basically a rebuilt pioneer village designed to show people what life was like when the Salt Lake Valley was first settled. They had a special event over Memorial Day weekend called Baby Animal Days that was a lot of fun. And I took A LOT of pictures.

There were so many kinds of baby animals, most of which Sweetheart got to pet or hold. There were the baby chicks,

and the pigs,

and the sweetest, softest little bunny.

She got up close and personal with a turtle.

She liked the goats, but kept trying to pet a little too far south. We tried to teach her that that was the danger zone, and thankfully she didn't get pooped on even though she never really understood what we meant. (Note to self: Don't put your daughter in sandals, and then take her where a lot of animals have been pooping on the ground.)

She LOVED the pony ride. Loved it. As soon as she got off she said, "I wanna do that again!" and started getting upset when we didn't get back in line. We eventually distracted her by promising a ride on the train, but even then she kept asking to go back and ride the pony again.

We sent CG this picture and told her that Sweetheart won High Point Champion for her division, too.

We got to ride on two trains! First there was the big train,

which took us to the mini train.

Check out the mountains and the water, so pretty!

We tuckered that poor girl right out. By the time we got home she was way too tired for a nap, and even though we left her in her bed for over an hour she refused to go to sleep. We finally gave up and Marquis cuddled her on the couch so they could watch movies while I got some work done. It didn't take long before she looked like this:

That's the sign of a super fun day!
