One day while riding in the car Princess fell asleep. From the back seat I heard Sweetheart say, "Princess is asleep, so I just took it. And that's called sharing!" I'm not sure what she stole, but I'm pretty sure Princess wouldn't think it was sharing.
We have seen a stray ant or two wandering around in various places in our house. While I was making breakfast one day the girls found one and followed it around the kitchen for a little while. And then I heard Sweetheart say, "That was an ant. Some ants die in peace." RIP little ant.
I usually exercise super early in the morning so that I don't get any little girl "help," but one morning Sweetheart woke up early and came downstairs to watch. As a little history, sometimes Sweetheart will do what we call playing the "I can't" game where she suddenly will pretend to forget how to walk or do one of many things she has done several times before, and instead will collapse in a pile of tears. Usually all I have to do is say, "Let's not play the 'I can't' game today" and she will snap out of it. Well, this particular morning as she was watching me exercise, I got to a part that was particularly difficult and stopped for a second, and my little cheerleader piped up and said, "Let's not play the I can't game today, ok mommy?" I was laughing too hard to continue and had to pause the DVD.
A few nights ago one of the bazillion stuffed animals that she sleeps with was missing. I'm not sure how she could tell because there are so many, but she knows and so we went hunting. We got to the toy room and I said, "Where do you think it could be?" She said, "Don't worry mom, I've got this," and then suddenly I was in a very elaborate spy movie. I almost expected the theme from Mission Impossible to start playing! She rolled across the floor in sneaky spy fashion, stealing from beneath the table to the side of the couch, cleverly sneaking up on that stuffed purple unicorn. That thing didn't even know she was coming!
Ok, so this was going to be just Sweetheart's show this time, but then Princess said something before I could publish it that I just had to add. I told her, "You are so sweet!" and she responded with, "For now mommy, just for now." And then that cute little stinker grinned!
