Princess is a bit of a sugar/junk food addict. She has an eerie ability to spot candy from miles away, and I've even caught her pulling a chair over to the freezer where she has discovered my chocolate chip stash. But sometimes her senses are so on point that they are almost scary.
For example, Marquis goes to work EARLY in the morning. He usually is out the door by 4:45. One morning he was gathering his food for the day, which that day included guacamole and chips. As he put the chips into his backpack, the chip bag ever so slightly made a crinkling sound, and from the girls' room Marquis and I heard Princess suddenly yell, "CHIPS!" Marquis went in and talked to her for a few seconds and tucked her back in, but she was still very much asleep. Even in her sleep she recognizes the sound of a crinkling chip bag!
One night a few months ago Marquis and I went on a date. After dinner was over I ordered some chocolate cake to take home for dessert. We went to pick up the kids from my parents' house and left the cake in the car. The first thing Princess said to us as we walked in the door was, "Where is the cake!?!" And Marquis and I looked at each other in surprise. How did she know? It was impossible for her to know that we had cake in the car, we hadn't even had a chance to mention cake, yet somehow she just knew.
I think we need to watch out for this little one!
