One day a few weeks ago, Sweetheart came up to me and said, "Mom, someone made my tooth wiggly." She was very distressed and didn't like it, until I was finally able to explain that this was an awesome thing that meant she was growing up.
Silly kid, she is ignoring my instructions and growing up anyway, and way too fast!
She wiggled and worked on that tooth for a few days. Then we were spending a lovely Sunday afternoon hanging out with family at my parents' house eating watermelon. Suddenly Sweetheart came running over to show me that she had lost that tooth right between bites of watermelon.
"Where's the tooth?" I asked her, ready to figure out how to transport it home so we could make sure it was ready for the tooth fairy. She grinned her perfect, gapped little grin and pointed at her belly. Yep, down it went, right with all that watermelon. She quickly reassured me that there was nothing to worry about, the tooth fairy was very capable of flying down to her belly to get that tooth.
And apparently she was right, because the next morning she found this tucked underneath her pillow.

That morning I heard her starting to stir in her room, and then there was the most delighted little gasp. She called for me to, "Come quick! Come quick!" so she could show off her booty. We haven't exposed her to money near often enough apparently, because instead of saying that the tooth fairy brought her a dollar, she was all excited that she brought her "a piece of money."
She was even more excited when she realized that the tooth fairy had left her mark a little bit, that piece of money sparkled!
Tricky little tooth fairy!
