February Grand Adventure - Burritos and Ice Castles

(For more information on our Fabulous Monthly Week Long Vacations aka Grand Adventures, check out the rest of them here.)

February's Grand Adventure was one of my favorites so far, I really think we did a good job of making up for missing January's Grand Adventure. First, we took the girls to a little burrito place we had heard about called Mountain West Burrito (no, they don't know I'm talking about them) that uses mostly local food, organic stuff, really fresh, good food. A sign up near the menu board even brags that they don't even own a can opener. They offered organic suckers without any artificial coloring to my kids and I could have kissed them. My kids don't get a lot of candy, but I said yes this time. Plus, the food is super yummy! Definitely a place to revisit.

We ate in the car on the way to our next, surprise destination. You see, there is this little movie that has been slightly popular. It's about these two princesses, one who is older and blonde and a little more quiet and subdued, and a younger red-headed sister who is a little more spunky and fearless. For some reason, my girls seemed to connect to this movie and, like everyone else on the planet, fell in love with it.

Not too far from our house, someone built a castle made of ice. It is not affiliated with Frozen, and in fact the first version of this castle was built last year, before Frozen even came out. However, you can't help but see a connection, especially after this video was filmed there and then exploded all over the internet.

Because it was February, and a rather warm February, we got dripped on a bit. This ended up being the last weekend the castle was able to be open, so it's a good thing we went when we did!

After we climbed around and explored a bit, we ran into some lovely princesses, and our own princesses melted into little puddles of delighted girliness.

Other than Princess's slightly frightening (and funny) little mini adventure in the port-a-potty, we had a wonderful time, and our February Adventure was a gigantic success!
