(Part 1 is here, and the rest of the info about our Grand Adventures is here.)
After it was all official and CG was a real, live, high school graduate, it was time to PART-AYY!! Her mom and stepdad had graciously invited us to a bash at their house for some grub and fun times.
(CG is in the middle on the opposite side of the table, looking toward her BFF in the black shirt. Princess is on the other side of BFF, with Sweetheart on this side of the table in the pink hoodie.)
We have met a few of CG's friends over the years, but usually just one at a time and not for very long. It was so very fun to get to observe the teenager in her native environment, interacting with her fellow teenagers. Marquis's parents had also made the trip out and we truly enjoyed just sitting together and watching them all play games and have fun together. I just wish we had gotten it on video!
While all this was going on, the littles discovered their new best friend. While CG always has been the most amazing big sister, she was never really into Barbies and princesses and all the girly stuff. CG's California sister, though, is very into all that stuff, and the little girls discovered a little slice of heaven in her bedroom.
Then we were off for the much anticipated night in a hotel room. Sweetheart and Princess were SO very excited about sleeping in a hotel room! They didn't even mind when their mean mom told them they had to sleep on the floor so their big sister could have the bed.
The next morning Sweetheart was still super excited about being in a hotel room, and borrowed my phone to take many pictures, including one of me packing up for the day.
We then braved the free continental breakfast, which is a big deal for this crazy food lady. By the look on her face, perhaps Princess felt the same as I did about her highly processed fake yogurt?
Or maybe it was just too early in the morning, and she was still waking up a bit.
Now I'm really going to mess with your mind, because we are going to skip straight from breakfast to lunch! A whole lot happened between breakfast and lunch and there are so, so many more pictures of that, but you'll have to wait and wonder until next time for that. In the meantime, just know that after it was over, we ended up at a little restaurant that had apparently been decorated by my great-grandmother, bless her heart. Not a bad place, though, and my salad was locally grown and organic, hooray!
Hold on to your hats, still more to come!
