Birthday blah, blah, birthday, blah. Are you tired of me talking about birthdays yet? The end of August until the end of September is like one gigantic birthday extravaganza at our house! After our birthday party fake out for Princess's birthday, we decided to combine her birthday party and Sweetheart's into just one party, and throw it in the middle of the month between their birthdays. We had a bunch of family come over and we had yummy food and lots of fun.
The girls were very spoiled and got lots of fun things.
My parents gave Sweetheart this bicycle helmet, which she then wore for several days and never once seemed to notice that she didn't actually have a bicycle to ride. We wanted to save something to give her on her actual birthday, so she just pretended she had a bike until then. You can bet more pics are coming of the actual bike reveal!
One hard part about having a child with an egg allergy is that you can't just walk into a bakery, pick out a cake, and have someone write Happy Birthday and their name on it for you. If you want a cake (or cupcakes) you get to make it yourself using a special egg-free recipe, and that also means you have to decorate it yourself. Decorating cupcakes is really not my forte, so I got a book from a library that talked about how simple it was to make some awesome cupcakes. I followed the directions and ended up with this:
Really, that is not too bad, unless you see what they are supposed to look like.
Oops! Oh, well, I get to try again next birthday!
