Monthly Grand Adventure For June

(Remember our fabulous monthly, week-long vacations, aka Grand Advendures? The explanation and first one from March is here, April is here, and May is here and here.)

Once upon a time, in the fair land of Marquisandemilydom, there lived two beautiful princesses, Princess Sweetheart and Princess... um, well Princess Princess.

One morning, the king and queen of the land told the princesses to dress in their finest dresses in preparation for a Grand Adventure, and then they took many pictures because the princesses were just so lovely.

They all got in their carriage for a ride to the Princess Festival, and the Princesses' excitement was unmatched.

They soon arrived and began wandering the festival. To their delight, several of their favorite princess friends and friends from other fairy tales and stories were there. They enjoyed speaking with Sleeping Beauty, Pocahontas, Mulan, Cinderella, the Frog Princess and many others.

But alas, one of their favorite princesses was nowhere to be found. They searched everywhere for the Little Mermaid to no avail. Where could she be? Perhaps she had gotten lost, or maybe she had even been kidnapped? It was a tragic mystery. The princesses decided it was their quest to discover the fate of the Little Mermaid.

They thought that perhaps some disguises would help them in their search.

(I love Sweetheart's fingers poking up over the top of the frame!)

When that didn't work, they then diligently searched the playground, being very thorough in case the Little Mermaid had somehow climbed all the way to the top of the rope cage.

(Look at my Sweetheart climbing clear to the top! Usually Princess is the brave one, this totally surprised us, how fun!)

While searching the playground, Princess Sweetheart became best friends with Wendy Darling (of Peter Pan fame), and Wendy had some great news for us. She had seen the Little Mermaid right at the entrance to the Princess Festival. We had walked on the other side and barely missed her! With Wendy's help our mystery was finally solved and we were able to have a great visit with the Little Mermaid.

The lovely princesses decided to take a little dip in the water. Thank goodness the queen had them dress with shorts under their beautiful dresses!

The princesses left the festival happy and glowing.

And they lived happily ever after.

The end.
