July Grand Adventure - A Day at the Waterpark

If you aren't familiar with our fabulous, monthly, week-long vacations (aka Grand Adventures), well then you have a lot of catching up to do! Go to this page for the whole story.

Our two littlest girls are very different from each other. Sometimes we have experiences that underline that fact more fully, and our trip to the water park did that very well.

We started out in the wave pool, which both girls enjoyed very much, although Sweetheart only enjoyed it in the much shallower portions of the pool. Princess and Marquis swam over to the deep parts, enjoying the larger waves with much gusto.

We moved on to the kid pool part of the park, and Princess tried out all the little slides while Sweetheart cautiously splashed and bobbed around in the more boring areas of the park.

Meanwhile, as we spent our time in the more tame parts of the park, Princess kept pointing at the big water slides, saying, "I want to do those ones! Come on, let's go up there!" Finally, Marquis took her while Sweetheart and I went for another gentle bob in the wave pool.

She came back glowing and excited, and if the line hadn't been so long, she probably would have gone for another ride!

We left our phones in the car for this adventure, so I don't have many pictures. The few I got are from after we decided to go home, and I ran to the car so I could have something documenting our super fun day.

(Just for the record, Marquis isn't dorky enough to wear his shirt while swimming, he had just put it on to go and ended up needing to help one of the littles in the water.)

As I went to the car to get my phone, Marquis took the girls back to the little kid pool for one last dunk. When I arrived, here is what I found.

Can you see my girls? Here, on the right, Princess is hanging on to this snake's head, yelling, "Woohoo!" as it bobbed up and down in the water.

On the other hand, on the other end of the snake was Sweetheart. I thought she was also having fun, although less vocally. Instead, when I got to her and told her it was time to go, she grabbed on and clung to me desperately. "I knew you would come save me, mommy! I was so scared, but I knew you would come!"

Then suddenly, right as we were leaving, Princess decided it was time to be timid. She wanted to go down one more teeny slide before we left, but when it came down to it, she needed a little encouragement.

July adventure, big success!
