I'm going to be a little mean today. I teased you a bit yesterday about how I was going to be facing one of my biggest fears on our last day in Hawaii, and now instead of telling you about it right here, I'm going to direct you to my food blog where I wrote a long post about the whole experience, because I'm lazy like that and don't want to write it all out again!
I do want to add just a little bit to the story, because at the time I wrote that I missed the dolphins! These friendly guys swam along with our boat for awhile, it was amazing to watch them!
On the way back we also saw some sea turtles come say hello. You can't see one in this picture, but do you see the big splash at the bottom of the picture? A sea turtle surfaced right there about 2 seconds before this picture.
In the post on my food blog, I put the wrong picture as the victory picture! That was actually the, "I'm still nervous but I'm distracted because they fed us breakfast picture." This one is actually the real victory shot:
As we were in Hawaii, my Instagram feed suddenly filled up with amazing pics of ladies doing yoga poses in amazing, beautiful places, so I decided I needed a cool yoga pose too. Unfortunately, I was in the car when I decided I needed this picture, but I was determined! And so I had Marquis take this shot on the way to our next stop.
The next stop was Iao Valley Needle, which is a huge pointy mountain that you can go see while walking through the cutest little garden pathway. It was beautiful, and a great last stop for our trip.
"Pictures of you, pictures of me, remind us all of what we used to be." Am I the only one who loves that song? I see the next picture and that song plays in my mind:
From Iao Valley we stopped for some dinner at another place where the locals looked at us like we were lost tourists because it was definitely off the beaten path, and then we ate while sitting on a bench just outside because there was no seating. But the food was delicious and the people friendly.
We went back to the airport that night to get ready for our red-eye flight back home. As I visited the ladies' room one last time in the airport, I just had to stop and take a picture of the bathroom sign:
Even the bathroom sign ladies are hanging loose! It made me chuckle.
We made it back home, and back to our littlest girls. What a wonderful trip, and such wonderful memories! I'm so grateful that we had this amazing opportunity!
