And finally... Hawaii (but just day one)

I have to admit, writing about our Grand Adventure for August has been an intimidating task for me, which explains why October came and went without a single post from me.

August was anything but boring, especially our time in Hawaii. I have a few thousand pictures at my disposal to use for these blog posts. What if I miss something? What if I use too many pictures, or not enough? I should have been documenting everything as we were there! But it's time to quit procrastinating and get it written down before another month goes by.

But let's rewind and give a little back story. Marquis's parents recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They decided that instead of a party or anything like that, all they wanted to do to celebrate was to take their kids on a trip. They decided on Hawaii. Yeah, you feel pretty bad for me right about now, huh? Woohoo!!!

I was super nervous about leaving my little girlies behind for a week, but thankfully my awesome sister was willing and able to stay at our house and hold down the fort. And under the nervousness there was so much excitement at the thought of a relaxing vacation with my wonderful Marquis!

Here is a "We just got on a plane bound for Hawaii!" selfie.

After we arrived on the beautiful island of Maui, we only waited long enough to pick up rental cars and check into our rental house before we found a beach to dip our feet in.

For me and Marquis, half the fun of a new place is exploring the food. The first night we were in Hawaii we found a Thai place. We don't get to eat Thai food often at home because they use so many peanuts and nut ingredients, so this was a real treat! Everyone passed their plates around so we got to sample many different things. Apparently we love Thai food!

Even though it was still early Hawaii time, we went to bed right after the restaurant. We were tired from a day of travel, and we had to get ready for an early wake up call the next day. We had a pretty amazing experience waiting for us, which I'll tell you about tomorrow!
