We Might Just Be Very Boring - October's Grand Adventure

(An explanation for our fabulous monthly week-long vacations/Grand Adventures is here, and our other adventures are here: AprilMay part 1May part 2JuneJulyAugust and September.)

The last Saturday in October, Marquis and I looked at each other and realized that we hadn't planned a monthly adventure yet, and that we had very little time to do so. We knew that November's Grand Adventure was going to be C-R-A-Z-Y awesome (I can't wait to tell you about that one!) so we decided to go very low key on our October adventure. So, here's what we decided to do. Are you ready? Wait for it...

We went out to dinner.

Exciting, right? Ok, yeah, I know that's pretty normal, lots of people probably do that every single night, but for our family it's rare enough to still be an adventure. But that's not all! Oh, no, it's never ending excitement around here. After dinner the fun continued. Are you ready?

We went grocery shopping!

Ok, even the exclamation point doesn't help that sentence, but despite our boringness, we still had a great time, and I still took a bunch of pictures.

As we were leaving the house, we found a little friend hanging out on the lawn and had to take a minute to say hello.

Sweetheart immediately named her "Lala," because it sounds like lovely and she was just so lovely. The most lovely praying mantis I've ever seen, I'm pretty sure.

For dinner, we decided to try out a place called Pizzeria 712. We love that they use fresh, local food, and at one point while walking to the bathroom I saw them making mozzarella. How many pizza places have you been to that make their own mozzarella in house? I'm going to give a full review of the restaurant on my food blog, so watch for that, but for now I will tell you here that we loved it and will be back. Yum!

We desperately needed to go grocery shopping, so we decided to hit the grocery store before going home. It was getting late by this point and the girls were tired. What I thought was hilarious was how each one acts so differently when they are tired. For example, Sweetheart melts into a little puddle and just falls asleep with a sweet smile on her face, like so:

Princess is the kind of kid that, as she starts to get tired, tries to move more and more and more, because the instant she stops she'll be out cold. She entertained quite a few people by dancing and singing up and down the aisles.

I will have you know, this was only at 8:00 p.m., it's not like we had them out super late or anything. I just have them trained so well for an 8:00 bedtime that this is what happens when we try to have an exciting night on the town.
